Product Overview

Elmsworth Oak brings a pale, softly whitewashed oak tone to a traditional herringbone layout. The smooth surface and Invisible UV Oiled finish let the grain remain the focus, with small blocks creating a detailed pattern across the floor.

The 80 × 300mm blocks combine a 3mm real oak wear layer with a multi-ply core in a 10mm construction. Select grade gives the floor a cleaner overall character while retaining the natural differences that make each oak block individual.

Why choose Elmsworth Oak?

Choose Elmsworth Oak for the detail of herringbone combined with a pale oak tone and smooth surface. The oak surface is supported by a layered core, combining the appearance of real timber with engineered construction.

Suitable rooms and areas

Suitable for domestic living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways and kitchens. In kitchens, wipe up splashes promptly and keep the floor dry.

For indoor floor use only. Not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms, basements, outdoor spaces or persistently damp areas. Wood naturally varies in grain and colour, so the finished floor will have individual character.

Style and colour ideas

Pair the pale oak with warm whites, linen and light stone for a soft interior. Deep blue or green cabinetry gives the herringbone pattern a stronger contrast, while simple furniture keeps its geometry visible.

Planning your order

This floor is priced per m² and supplied in complete boxes of 0.96m². Enter your floor area in the Timberwharf calculator. It rounds up to whole boxes, displays the total area supplied and calculates the flooring cost using that supplied area.

Allow for cutting waste before finalising your order. Your fitter should set the allowance for the room shape, herringbone layout and any borders. Add this allowance once. Order the full project quantity together to help maintain a consistent appearance.

Installation and care

Fitting: Install by gluing down or nailing to a suitable prepared subfloor. This tongue-and-groove herringbone floor is not suitable for floating installation.

Preparation: Acclimatise the flooring for at least 72 hours in the room where it will be fitted. The room should be dry and maintained at 18–27°C. Have your fitter check subfloor moisture, level and condition, and provide the required expansion gaps. Inspect the boards before fitting and blend boards from several boxes.

Underfloor heating: Suitable when the heating system, subfloor and installation are compatible with engineered wood. Follow the flooring and heating-system instructions for commissioning, temperature control and gradual changes in temperature.

Care: Remove grit with a soft brush or suitable vacuum head. Clean with a well-wrung damp mop and a cleaner intended for oiled wood floors. Wipe up spills promptly, protect furniture feet and avoid steam cleaners or excess water.

It is priced per m² and supplied in whole boxes. Each box covers 0.96m². The Timberwharf calculator rounds the order up to complete boxes and charges for the total area supplied.

Is it real wood?
Yes. The surface is a 3mm real oak wear layer over a multi-ply core. The total board thickness is 10mm.

Can it be fitted over underfloor heating?
Yes, with a compatible heating system and correctly prepared installation. Follow the flooring and heating-system instructions.

Can it be laid as a floating floor?
No. This herringbone floor is designed for nailed or glued-down installation.
