Product Overview

Alderwick Oak combines a light natural oak colour with soft beige tones, visible grain and rustic character. Its smooth surface and Invisible UV Oiled finish create a restrained appearance that works with both pale and contrasting furnishings.

The 190 × 1900mm straight planks give the floor long, broad lines. A 3mm real oak wear layer is supported by a multi-ply core, with an overall thickness of 14mm and bevels on two sides.

Why choose Alderwick Oak?

Choose Alderwick Oak for wide oak planks with a smooth surface and a light, understated finish. The oak surface is supported by a layered core, combining the appearance of real timber with engineered construction.

Suitable rooms and areas

Suitable for domestic living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways and kitchens. In kitchens, wipe up splashes promptly and keep the floor dry.

For indoor floor use only. Not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms, basements, outdoor spaces or persistently damp areas. Wood naturally varies in grain and colour, so the finished floor will have individual character.

Style and colour ideas

Soft whites, greige and natural textiles complement the light beige oak. Darker furniture adds definition, while pale cabinetry and simple rugs keep the overall space calm and bright.

Planning your order

This floor is priced per m² and supplied in complete boxes of 2.166m². Enter your floor area in the Timberwharf calculator. It rounds up to whole boxes, displays the total area supplied and calculates the flooring cost using that supplied area.

Allow for cutting waste before finalising your order. Your fitter should set the allowance for the room shape, board direction and any difficult cuts. Add this allowance once. Order the full project quantity together to help maintain a consistent appearance.

Installation and care

Fitting: Suitable for floating, nailed or glued-down installation, depending on the subfloor and fitting system. For a floating installation, use a suitable underlay and glue the tongue-and-groove joints as directed in the installation instructions.

Preparation: Acclimatise the flooring for at least 72 hours in the room where it will be fitted. The room should be dry and maintained at 18–27°C. Have your fitter check subfloor moisture, level and condition, and provide the required expansion gaps. Inspect the boards before fitting and blend boards from several boxes.

Underfloor heating: Suitable when the heating system, subfloor and installation are compatible with engineered wood. Follow the flooring and heating-system instructions for commissioning, temperature control and gradual changes in temperature.

Care: Remove grit with a soft brush or suitable vacuum head. Clean with a well-wrung damp mop and a cleaner intended for oiled wood floors. Wipe up spills promptly, protect furniture feet and avoid steam cleaners or excess water.

Frequently asked questions

How is Alderwick Oak sold?
It is priced per m² and supplied in whole boxes. Each box covers 2.166m². The Timberwharf calculator rounds the order up to complete boxes and charges for the total area supplied.

Is it real wood?
Yes. The surface is a 3mm real oak wear layer over a multi-ply core. The total board thickness is 14mm.

Can it be fitted over underfloor heating?
Yes, with a compatible heating system and correctly prepared installation. Follow the flooring and heating-system instructions.

Can it be laid as a floating floor?
Yes. Use a suitable underlay and the specified adhesive for the tongue-and-groove joints. Nailed and glued-down methods are also possible on suitable subfloors.

Can it be refinished?
The 3mm oak wear layer allows for professional assessment and refinishing when appropriate. The method depends on the floor condition and remaining oak thickness. Sanding will alter the original surface treatment.
