Product Overview

Elka Walnut Oak laminate flooring has a dark brown timber effect with rich walnut-style grain. The flowing grain and deeper colour give the floor a distinctive presence in living rooms and bedrooms.

The 8mm boards use an HDF core and a decorative wood-effect surface, with AC4 abrasion resistance and a Class 32 use classification. This standard V-Groove laminate is intended for dry indoor spaces and should be protected from standing water.

Each plank measures 192 × 1261 × 8mm and has four bevelled edges. The Uniclic joint allows floating installation with a suitable underlay. Each pack contains 9 planks and covers 2.179m². The floor is priced per m² and supplied in complete packs.

Why choose Elka Walnut Oak?

Walnut Oak combines a dark brown timber effect with rich walnut-style grain with a practical 8mm plank format. The flowing grain and deeper colour give the floor a distinctive presence in living rooms and bedrooms.

Suitable rooms and areas

Suitable for indoor living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways. The Class 32 classification also covers moderate commercial use, subject to the product’s fitting and warranty conditions.

Use this standard laminate in dry rooms. It is not an Aqua Protect product and should not be specified for bathrooms, showers, wet rooms or other wet areas. Remove spills immediately and keep water away from the joints and perimeter.

Style and colour ideas

Pair this floor with pale walls, cream fabrics and simple furniture that lets the floor remain the focus. Four bevelled edges give the layout definition, while consistent plank direction can help connect adjoining spaces.

Water resistance and warranty

This is a standard non-Aqua Protect laminate. Avoid standing water, wet cleaning and prolonged dampness. Use dry cleaning methods and remove accidental spills immediately.

Manufacturer’s warranty conditions, exclusions and installation requirements apply. Read the full laminate warranty for the applicable cover.

Planning your order

Each pack contains 9 planks and covers 2.179m². Enter your room area in the Timberwharf calculator to see the full packs required, the area supplied and the order total.

Allow for cutting waste. A 10% allowance is a useful starting point for a straightforward plank layout; your fitter should confirm the amount for your room shape. Add the allowance once and order the project quantity together.

Installation and care

Preparation: acclimatise the packs in the installation room as directed in the guide. The subfloor must be dry, clean, stable and level enough for the chosen system. Check moisture and flatness before fitting, and use the required damp-proofing and compatible laminate underlay.

Fitting: install as a floating floor with the specified expansion gaps. Do not fasten the boards to the subfloor or trap them beneath fixed kitchen units and other permanent fittings. Mix boards from several packs as you work and inspect each board before installation.

Underfloor heating: the complete heating and flooring build-up must be compatible. Follow the Unilin heating instructions and keep the finished floor surface at or below 27°C. Commission the system before fitting and change temperatures gradually. Cooling systems require automatic condensation and dew-point control.

Care: use a soft brush or vacuum head and protect furniture feet. Use dry cleaning methods; do not wet-mop the floor. Do not use a steam cleaner, sand the surface, or apply oil or wax. Use entrance mats to limit grit.

Technical performance

AC4 is the abrasion-resistance rating; Class 32 is the use classification. These describe performance rather than the appearance grades used for real wood. The 8mm boards have an HDF core and a finished decorative surface, without a sandable timber wear layer.

Select the underlay as part of the whole floor system. For underfloor heating, check the combined thermal resistance and the exact system arrangement with the installer, following the technical instructions. A thick or unsuitable underlay must not be used to compensate for an uneven subfloor.
