Elka Driftwood Oak laminate flooring has a pale grey-beige oak effect with weathered grain. Fine marks and muted grain bring a gently aged appearance without making the floor look dark.
The 8mm boards use an HDF core and a decorative wood-effect surface, with AC4 abrasion resistance and a Class 32 use classification. Aqua Protect adds surface-water protection when the floor is fitted and maintained to Elka’s instructions.
Each plank measures 192 × 1261 × 8mm and has four bevelled edges. The Uniclic joint allows floating installation with a suitable underlay. Each pack contains 9 planks and covers 2.179m². The floor is priced per m² and supplied in complete packs.
Driftwood Oak combines a pale grey-beige oak effect with weathered grain with a practical 8mm plank format. Fine marks and muted grain bring a gently aged appearance without making the floor look dark.
Suitable for indoor living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways. The Class 32 classification also covers moderate commercial use, subject to the product’s fitting and warranty conditions.
Kitchens and bathrooms require the water-resistant fitting method, including the specified Foamstrip and AquaProtect sealant at the perimeter, pipes and transitions. Follow the full guide and applicable local requirements. Not suitable for showers, saunas, pool areas, rooms with floor drains or outdoor use.
Pair this floor with off-white walls, soft grey upholstery and linen. Four bevelled edges give the layout definition, while consistent plank direction can help connect adjoining spaces.
Aqua Protect is surface-water protection. Correct perimeter and joint finishing is essential. Remove spills promptly. Protection against water on the surface does not cover flooding, plumbing failures or moisture coming from the subfloor.
Manufacturer’s warranty conditions, exclusions and installation requirements apply. Read the full laminate warranty for the applicable cover.

Allow for cutting waste. A 10% allowance is a useful starting point for a straightforward plank layout; your fitter should confirm the amount for your room shape. Add the allowance once and order the project quantity together.
Preparation: acclimatise the packs in the installation room as directed in the guide. The subfloor must be dry, clean, stable and level enough for the chosen system. Check moisture and flatness before fitting, and use the required damp-proofing and compatible laminate underlay.
Fitting: install as a floating floor with the specified expansion gaps. Do not fasten the boards to the subfloor or trap them beneath fixed kitchen units and other permanent fittings. Mix boards from several packs as you work and inspect each board before installation.
Underfloor heating: the complete heating and flooring build-up must be compatible. Follow the Unilin heating instructions and keep the finished floor surface at or below 27°C. Commission the system before fitting and change temperatures gradually. Cooling systems require automatic condensation and dew-point control.
Care: use a soft brush or vacuum head and protect furniture feet. For routine cleaning, use a well-wrung mop and a suitable laminate cleaner, then dry the floor. Do not use a steam cleaner, sand the surface, or apply oil or wax. Use entrance mats to limit grit.
AC4 is the abrasion-resistance rating; Class 32 is the use classification. These describe performance rather than the appearance grades used for real wood. The 8mm boards have an HDF core and a finished decorative surface, without a sandable timber wear layer.
Select the underlay as part of the whole floor system. For underfloor heating, check the combined thermal resistance and the exact system arrangement with the installer, following the technical instructions. A thick or unsuitable underlay must not be used to compensate for an uneven subfloor.
